Factorio

Building a factory starts with somewhere to play. The first milestone of FactorioAI is complete: deploy a working Factorio server with Ansible and join it from a client.

Start with a server

The installation guide walks through a private, password-protected server on x86-64 Linux. Ansible installs the Docker Compose project, keeps saves on disk, and enables the service at boot.

Set up a Factorio server and connect to it →

Once the server is running, use the server operations guide to restart it, reset a world, restore a chosen backup, or create a new world.

The example uses Factorio 2.0.77, with vanilla gameplay by default. The client and server must use the same version and mods.

What comes next

This section will grow alongside FactorioAI. For now, the installation guide covers the foundation: a running server, persistent saves, and a successful client connection. The operations guide covers the day-to-day world workflow.
